Birds Of Paradise
Urdhva Pasrvakonasana, yea I just made that up.
Have you ever asked yourself if you’re going down the right path? Have I made the right decision? If I take that path, will I lose this path?
Go ahead. Why not? Why not try? And try, and try and try again! It’s like going shopping and trying on clothes. No, that outfit doesn’t work, or that one, or that one. But then you find the one that feels and looks just right.
I never even noticed how much my chest has opened and my back has strengthened, until Facebook reminds me. Binding is work towards tip top posture with a ton of support from your arms holding you in place from the bind. And it is with this joy in devotion to a better posture, I am able to deepen and show progression. It is in trying again, and again, and again, and sometimes even more, to get somewhere. Anywhere. Maybe not the destination, but somewhere. And as long as you honor your truth in trying and trying again, at some point it will be right.
Being without my teachers, I’ve lost sight of this. I’ve had moments of impatience and frustration, asking over and over again when will I be healed and when I can be expected to be back at work. When, all in the while I am healing.
Thank the universe my PTist is @amanda_v_ramirez who teaches yoga with me at @sohoyoga. She reminded me that it is so easy to want to skip the devotion part, the experience of the process, to get to the end result, when the journey actually stops when you want to skip it. Resistance.
The very next morning I lifted my leg all on its own for the first time in almost 4 weeks. Thanks guuuurl! Thanks Yoga for reminding me life is so much easier than you make in your head.
Journey back to Self.
